WINTER WELLBEING WORKSHOP

DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND – THERE WILL BE ANOTHER WINTER WELLBEING WORKSHOP LATER IN THE DAY TOO!!

This Winter Wellbeing workshop is designed to aid you in keeping happy and healthy through the practices of Asana, Pranayama, Aromatherapy, Massage and Yoga Nidra.

The day will begin with an awakening Vinyasa Flow designed to ground yet revitalise your body ready for the day ahead.

Healthy treats and herbal teas will then be available giving you all a chance to get to know one another in a short break before we begin our next session.

I will then lead you in creating your own essential oil massage blend, designed specifically for you which we will then use for a guided massage to help to support and relax your body, a practice which can then be continued at home.

Finally we will enjoy a beautifully restorative flow to wind down our session followed by Yoga Nidra to close our time together, leaving you feeling released and ready to enjoy the festive season.

Yoga Nidra or Yogic Sleep has been shown through one session to provide the same benefits of 8 hours of sleep. It is amongst the deepest possible states of relaxation, while you remain fully conscious. It’s proven to reduce stress, anxiety, headaches and insomnia amongst many more benefits.

Each person will also leave with a goodie bag to help them continue what they have learnt at home.

FAQ’s

What do I need to bring?

* Mats and props are available but if you have your own this is always a nice way to create your own space

* Please bring a blanket, warm top and socks for Yoga Nidra to keep you toasty and warm during the practice as you will be lay still for a period of time.

* A notebook in case you want to take any notes during the essential oil and massage session

YIN & RESTORATIVE YOGA

 

With Sofie Swindlehurst

Yin is the calm, receptive opposite to dynamic yang.  Of course we need both but our swift-paced world tends to find life a little too heavy in yang!

Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissues of the body using longer-held, more supported asana to open up tight, dense areas that can build up over time.  It’s great for those of us with slow-creep postural habits, those of us with specific sports goals and those of us who just want to take better care of our joint health.  By coupling with restorative, this practice brings generous relaxation and renewal.  Come revel in spacious stillness.

WHAT TO BRING:

Please bring props for practice whilst Covid protocols are in place at the studio.  Suggested – a mat, two yoga bricks and a blanket

Enjoy a 3 hour rejuvenating yin and restorative yoga practice. We will gently release tension from our bodies as we move through restorative yoga postures. We will use yin yoga postures to release deeper into the fascia and myofascia (the body’s connective tissues). This event is perfect for anyone feeling the physical and mental effects of stress. We will finish with a guided deep relaxation leaving you feeling relaxed and ready to enjoy the festive season.

GONG YOGA

Enjoy healing vibrations from Gong Spa expert, Martyn Cawthorne whilst moving through energising and restorative yoga postures. This event is friendly and welcoming to all. We will move through dynamic postures, find stillness in restorative yoga postures and finally drop into a deeper state of relaxation to aid healing and bring about transformation.

WHAT TO EXPECT: 90 minutes of calming breath work, vinyasa yoga and restorative yoga postures. Followed by a 1 hour deep relaxation. The gongs and other healing sounds will be played throughout.
