YIN & RESTORATIVE YOGA

With Sofie Swindlehurst

Friday 21st February. 6:30pm – 8pm

Cost: £9

Yin is the calm, receptive opposite to dynamic yang.  Of course we need both but our swift-paced world tends to find life a little too heavy in yang!

Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissues of the body using longer-held, more supported asana to open up tight, dense areas that can build up over time. It’s great for those of us with slow-creep postural habits, those of us with specific sports goals and those of us who just want to take better care of our joint health.  By coupling with restorative, this practice brings generous relaxation and renewal.

Come revel in spacious stillness.

Feel free to drop in or contact Sofie: 07967 820260

FAMILY YIN & RESTORATIVE YOGA

With Sofie Swindlehurst

Friday 6th March. 6:30pm – 7:30pm

Cost: £9

This family class runs alongside the monthly Yin & Restorative but is geared more toward those who want to bring teens and older juniors – or indeed toward they who want to bring their elders! – for shared space and serenity.

Yin is calm and peaceful.  Yang is active and dynamic.  Of course we need both but our swift-paced world tends to find life a little too heavy in yang!  So here we bring balance, and practice the transition back to peace.

Yin Yoga targets the fascia (connective body tissue), opening up tight, dense areas that can build up over time.  Blending yin with restorative yoga – where the body is entirely supported for the deepest rest – allows us to ease out, realign and thoroughly restore.

Feel free to drop in or contact Sofie: 07967 820260

MINDFUL YIN, RESTORATIVE YOGA AND YOGA NIDRA MEDITATION WORKSHOP

With Kate Kearns

Saturday 21st March.  2:30pm – 5pm

Investment: £20 Early bird price in advance of the 2.5 hour workshop and this will secure your place or £25 on the day if places are available.  Places are limited

Kate welcomes you to this delicious deep releasing Mindful Yinspiring Yin, Nourishing Restorative and Yoga Nidra Workshop – Mindfully Release, Relax and Let Go

Yin Yoga offers a slow-paced, meditative style of yoga with postures held for longer periods of time for 3 to 5 minutes in order to improve flexibility by releasing the connective tissues of the body including the tendons, fascia, and ligaments, even joints of the bones generally in the hips, pelvis and lower spine. At the same time there is an emphasis on relaxing the muscular tissue.

Yin aims to unblock meridian channels to encourage energy/chi/prana to flow cultivating harmony and peace, a deeper sense of balance and feelings of calmness and a sense of well-being.as well as organ health. Yin offers a deep release and sense of letting go and brings us into balance when we are out of balance, restoring our Yin and Yang.

Restorative Poses (different to Yin poses) offer nourishment, healing and support and we use the bolsters, blocks, blankets and belts to provide the support we need to provide complete relaxation. We mix the two styles and I offer options and choices so that you can decide how your practice will unfold and make your own choices that Yinspire and support you.

To finish, a long Yoga Nidra, one of the deepest of all mediations. An effortless relaxation. Yoga Nidra is the prefect end to this Yin Yoga deep releasing and letting go sequence relaxation, bringing incredible calmness, quietness, clarity and deep relaxation.

Suitable for all levels including beginners.

BREATH OF LIFE

Breathwork, Pranayama & Meditation

With Vicki Shields (SYT)

Saturday 16th May 10:30 – 3:00pm

Sunday 17th May  10:30 – 3:00pm

Whatever ‘style’ of Yoga you practice, it will be enhanced by the management of your breath, and so too will the quality of your daily life. The breath is the very foundation stone of yoga asana and meditation & is the most important function of the body as it impacts on your level of stress and so too the health of every single cell in the body.

Simple rhythmic breathing techniques that utilise the diaphragm, quickly shift your body from stressed to a more relaxed mode.

• step by step instruction on how to open the breath, releasing tension through the upper abdomen, neck and jaw

• extend each breath so it is full and deep, rather than shallow or limited to the upper parts of the lungs.

• change the patterns of your breathing and change the patterns of your thinking. Free your breath, free your mind!

• consciously expanding the breath and eventually slowing down the breath cycle, give us the potential to become masters of the mind instead of the mind controlling us.

In addition, Gentle Restorative Asana, Yoga Nidra, and Mantra Recitation will be a holiday for your mind and body.

Space limited to 12 students booking of both days will take priority at a cost of £75

TEACHERS FURTHER TRAINING 40hrs £250. This Training is across 3 weekends and is a rolling programme begin at any month over three consecutive weekends. A total of 9 months to gain the Yoga Alliance Professionals certifications more importantly to feel more confident to guide others to breathe more efficiently.
