at the Shanti Som Wellbeing Retreat, Marbella, Spain.


Shanti-Som Wellbeing Retreat is an exceptional retreat destination. Nestled in the midst of nature, surrounded by the Sierra de las Nieves Nature Park, it brings together elements of Balinese architecture and Oriental gardens creating a slice of luxurious eastern style. Tucked away in a shallow valley, surrounded by rolling hills and open countryside, Shanti Som lets you escape the hustle and bustle of modern life and immerse yourself in all things healthy and peaceful. The food is delicious, nutritious and healthy; the spa offers an excellent array of treatments and therapies; the yoga pavilion is a triumph; the hillside heated pool is a tranquil oasis and the bedrooms are supremely comfortable, and all with stunning en suite shower rooms.

On the retreat, there will be two daily yoga classes, with one free afternoon during the week to explore the area.

A retreat is a perfect time to delve a little deeper, enhance your yoga practice and re-discover that natural state of stillness and peace. Over the five days, we will be exploring the Chakras. Eastern spiritual traditions consider the Chakras to be the energy centres of the body. These chakras can become imbalanced through the pressures and strains of daily life and the theme of chakras and energy work will be woven into the yoga practices to help you to re-balance and re-set.

The two-hour long morning classes will be dynamic, energising and flowing.  We will be combining breath and movement to release tension, open up the body and build a wonderfully positive energy for the day.

The evening classes will be gentle, mindful and restorative. We will be guiding our attention inward to find that beautiful, deep, inner softness and quiet.  Face Yoga will also be incorporated into one of the evening classes. Face yoga massage and exercises are a natural way of looking and feeling younger and healthier.  It’s a wonderful little ‘tool’ to add to your yoga toolbox and will really ensure that you leave with a youthful, healthy glow!

All yoga classes will end with a guided relaxation and there will also be an optional ‘Bedtime Yoga Nidra’ after dinner each evening before bed to ensure you really switch off and have a wonderfully restful sleep.
